Investigate What Happened To a British Settlement In The Betrayer

Betrayer is a new PC first-person shooter from a new studio called Blackpowder Games. This studio consists of 6 developers that worked on F.E.A.R. and No One Lives Forever.

The art direction used in this game is pretty cool. The whole game has an black and white filter with a splash of red to highlight clues and enemies. It gives the Betrayer a dark and gloomy mood. The concept of it sounds good too. You have to travel in an open world and discover hidden clues to find out what happened to an abandoned British settlement by discovering clues, notes, and artifacts in the colonial era Virginia. To make things worse you have to deal with undead conquistadors.

Betrayer comes out on PC on Aug. 15th on Steam for 15$.

Why Can't PlanetSide 2 Do Cross-Platform Multiplayer?

Both the PC version and the PS4 versions are identical in everything except for one thing; how each platform handles updates. While SOE can update PlanetSide 2 anytime they want on the PC; the PS4 version has to get a thumbs up from Sony's Playstation division before it can even go live.

"Because of the update cadence, and the additional steps you have to go through to be able to release an update on the PlayStation Network, we're not going to be able to keep our servers in sync, so you won't be able to just play with the same people," he said. "They might be a week behind in terms of patching, or a day behind or whatever it ends up being, and we can't really have that." - Matt Higby, Creative Director for PlanetSide 2.

There is a chance that you might be able to bring your PC profile to the PS4 version of the game or vice-versa. The team at SOE is looking into it. They also might release an companion application for the Vita.

"Well, the main thing that we're doing is just the linked play so you can actually play on your Vita," Higby said. "In terms of Vita-specific functionality, we haven't really talked about doing anything yet, but we do have some ideas for doing kind of companion games that you could have. Either being able to navigate the map, or set missions and stuff on your Vita."
